The Millionaire Dropout
Started out pretty good, typical confidence builders and whatnot, but suddenly the book was teaching me how to run a mail order business. Not of interest. Won't be finishing this one. If you get stuck with the tech, remember: you can outsource anything these days! In this world of technology, things change so fast. This book is about 5 years old, so it understandably has some advice I find outdated.
Overall, this book is full of great advice. Jun 21, Jonathan rated it liked it. This book was interesting, and overall it had a few good points. At times however, I felt as if it consisted of advertisements for this or that website or business, and less practical information I would use that was actually applicable to my life. I did enjoy however how the author Vince focused on running your own business and being an entrepreneur. I just wish he had spent more time on finances and investing. He did give some good advice on bartering however. Like he says in the book, unless This book was interesting, and overall it had a few good points.
Like he says in the book, unless you ask you will never know if you can get a discount on something.

7 quick tips to Fire Your Boss, Do What You Love & Reclaim Your Life – Millionaire Dropout
What I want to do below is share some of my favorite Vince Stanizone quotes from the book. They are listed in no particular order.
Each quote is in bold. I also provide my own two cents after each quote. Luck is determined by your own efforts — the blood, sweat, and tears we put into life. If you want to be lucky in luck, come up with a game plan, and then roll up your sleeves and do the work. You have to work smart, but nothing replaces hard work.
Little things done consistently over a period of time add up to really big things. Fear or failure holds most people back in life.
The Millionaire Dropout: Fire Your Boss. Do What You Love. Reclaim Your Life! by Vince Stanzione
Most people would rather play it safe than step out and take a chance at something they have never tried before, even if it is a great opportunity. Successful people know what they want in life and then they go out and get it. There are times when you have to endure short-term pain for long-term gain. To be successful, you need vision.
The Millionaire Dropout: Fire Your Boss. Do What You Love. Reclaim Your Life!
You must see things before they exist. All of your decision must be based on your long-term goals, not the temporary problem at hand. Do not let fear paralyze you. Instead, let it be your motivator. Most things you fear will never come true anyway. Ignore the nay-sayers and haters like the plague.
Instead, surround yourself with people who encourage you and uplift you. Be careful who you listen to. You might end up just like them. Listen to people who have what you want and are already successful. Admire them, congratulate them, find out their secrets and copy them. Find people who have what you want in life and then model their behavior. That is the quickest way to success. Opportunities rarely just appear out of thin air.
Go out there and make it happen. Get away from your computer and go meet people! Take pride in what you do. Applied knowledge is what matters most. There are lots of educated derelicts in the world. There is a difference between knowing how to do something and actually going out and doing it. Make sure you pick a niche with people who want what you have and have the money to buy what you are selling.
Do what you love and the money will follow. Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life. People rarely appreciate what is given to them. They are your servant, not vice-versa. Find a bank that treats you like gold and wants your business, not one that makes you jump through hoops. You want a business with high profit margins so you can sell fewer products to better quality customers and still make a nice profit. Pick a market first. Find out what products or services they want and then give it to them. Never forget this. Never forget that people are emotional creatures.
Use emotion, not logic in your sales materials. When you are low on funds it forces you to be creative and think outside of the box.

Having tons of capital for your business can be a curse. Not having money is a good reason to start a business , not a reason to keep you from doing it. Price your products and services based upon the value they provide, not how much they cost to make. Profit is king. Profit is the only thing that matters in your business. The money is in the follow up! Treat your customers as well as you would treat your own mother.
Your product or service is not your real business. Marketing and advertising your product or service is your REAL business. No product sells itself.
